As an artist passionate about repurposing forgotten materials, I present to you "Nostalgic Rainbow," a mixed media art creation. Through a careful process of cutting up and smashing old CDs, I have given new life to these remnants of the past. Each fragment is arranged and encased in transparent acrylic resin, creating a fusion of vibrant colors and iridescent reflections. These resin-encased CD pieces find their home within a sleek, black round wooden serving tray, elevating their visual impact and inviting viewers to immerse themselves in the beautiful rainbow they create, with just a little hint of nostalgia for simpler times.

By utilizing CDs, a symbol of our not-so-distant technological past, "Nostalgic Rainbow" embodies the bittersweet beauty of nostalgia that I feel as a "90's baby"- just old enough to remember a simpler time before the technological advances of the modern day forever changed our world.
In an artist's hands, discarded CDs find new purpose and meaning. "Nostalgic Rainbow" captures the essence of a bygone era, reigniting the nostalgia embedded within these forgotten fragments, and reminding the viewer that we can create beautiful new things out of the old. Through this project, I hope to inspire a sense of wonder, introspection, and appreciation for the beauty that can be found in repurposed materials.
